about me

This site provides some news about GIS (Geographical Information Systems), web mapping and all things geospatial. I’m aiming to bring you information from a variety of sources and events around cartography, GIS, GPS, web mapping, geospatial technologies and related fields. Please contact me if you have any items of interesting news you want to share. 50% of the advertising revenue from this site is donated to MapAction – so please click the sponsored links!

In my day job I work for Aon Benfield in the Impact Forecasting team, helping clients (insurers and reinsurers) with their catastrophe modelling needs. Previously I worked for Halcrow, a large global engineering consultancy, and prior to that for IETG. Outside of work, I’m involved with the Association for Geographic Information and I volunteer for MapAction, the disaster mapping charity.

For more information about me you can view my linkedin profile. You can also follow me on twitter.

And finally, this blog site and the comments made on it do not reflect the views of my employers.

Thanks for visiting the site!
